Biographical sketch
- A sports loving person (especially soccer, cricket and rugby) but with several other interests.
Academic Profile
- Currently serving as lecturer in Environmental Sciences. Previously, in a similar position at the University of the North (Qwaqwa Campus); and University of Zululand. Served as Acting HOD, Department of Geography, UDW.
Professional Activities
- Journal reviewer for several international journals; and have served in various portfolios for the School of Environmental Sciences. Supervisor to masters and doctoral students.
Community Activities
- Researcher and advisor for the Phoenix- Mt Moriah - Mt Royal Eco-Park
Research Interests / areas of specialty
- Environmental geology and geochemistry of fluvial systems, wetlands, estuarine systems and coastal lakes; Material transport in aquatic systems.
Research Projects
Currently working on several projects:
- Diatom Collaboration project with Mangosuthu University of Technology;
- Geomorphological Processes of Mountainous regions (Himalayas and Drakensberg);
- Coastal lakes of KwaZulu-Natal and
- Material Transport in Aquatic Systems.
